Die Anwendung volkswirtschaftlicher Methoden auf den Incomingtourismus ist daher eine Selbstverständlichkeit. In der tourismuswirtschaftlichen Forschung dominieren jedoch betriebswirtschaftliche Ansätze, denen Ralf Bochert eine neue Methode entgegensetzt. Der Autor erläutert, wie die touristische Strategienbildung auf wirtschaftspolitischer Basis erfolgen kann. Er wendet die Neue Politische Ökonomie auf den Incomingtourismus an und schließt seine Untersuchungen mit einem internationalen Vergleich ab.
