Book synopsis

Excerpt from Robert and Andrew Foulis and the Glasgow Press: With Some Account of the Glasgow Academy of the Fine Arts When the late Mr. David Robertson had completed the publica tion of the second edition of Glasgow Past and Present, it occurred to him that a reprint of the Views of Glasgow executed in The Glasgow Academy of the Fine Arts would form a suitable companion volume. He applied to the Earl of Home for the loan of the set of Views in the library at Douglas Castle, which was readily granted I supplied one or two that were awanting, and he then had the whole reproduced by Messrs. Waterston of Edinburgh. Mr. Robert. Son asked me to write an Introduction to the projected volume, and, with some hesitation, I agreed to do so. He himself bestowed much time and pains in preparing descriptive explanations of the Views. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
