Excerpt from The Scourge, Vol. 4: Or Monthly Expositor of Imposture and Folly The letters of an exalted personage shall be inserted in our next number provided they be authenticated by the name of our correspondent. The police of Surrey shall meet with early attention. Memoirs of a Hertfordshire family; the Hypercritic; and the Pulpit, are deferred to our next number. The negotiators, a tragi-comedy, shall likewise appear at an early opportunity. Our Albany correspondent is requested to name any hotel at which a card of address may be left for him. We intend, in our next number, to make some remarks on the expedience of introducing Mr. Carstair's system of expeditious writing into the Lancasterian schools, and on the late extraordinary advertisement of Mr. Lancaster, of a new discovery, by which the produce of the earth may be more than doubled. As the lecture which Mr. Lancaster advertised has not been given, we presume that his friends have dissuaded him from a mode of puffing so derogatory to his character. We are much indebted to the author of a "Caning for the White Sticks," of which we shall hereafter make ample use, and request bis future correspondence.
