Returning to the very basics of cooking, and looking at the techniques and staple ingredients which underline the best traditions of British cookery, she has re-examined them and adapted them in a contemporary light. Here, she looks at rice, flour, potatoes, pasta and eggs, and removes the mystique from both simple and advanced recipes. The book ties-in with a ten-part series to be broadcast on BBC2 from October. A huge advertising campaign will be targeted through the national press and magazines.
