Opis

Our two intrepid but accident prone witches are summoned by a mysterious but very powerful man to help him with certain problems happening within his country. Both Muddledydo and Sillybeth are rather reluctant to take on this offer of great rewards if they can solve the problems besetting this man and his country. It turns out that this particular man is Premier Chancellor of one of the neighbouring countries adjoining that which Muddledydo and Sillybeth reside in and help the people therein. Muddledydo being the most reluctant to leave her life as the wife of the local Tavern/Inn in the village where they both live, is eventually persuaded by Sillybeth to at least go with her and investigate what it is the man actually wants them to do for this substantial reward. They sharpen up their powers and spells practicing at the bungalow where Sillybeth lives, and Muddledydo is experimenting with a new spell which could help them out in very tight situations. She believes they will need something like it if they are to succeed in this venture into a foreign land, there is no telling what may turn up to try and stop them. Muddledydo concocts a new spell to use if they need it? How to turn people and things into strawberry jelly! The other puzzling thing about this assignment is the fact that they never meet this Premier Chancellor, only a nondescript looking small man with a very awkward and clipped form of accent and speech. He talks like a person using chopped up words with gaps that have to be filled in to understand what he is saying. This does not make it easy for Muddledydo and Sillybeth to understand the whole of the mission they are getting involved in, but they gradually piece together what they are being asked to do. This makes Muddledydo even more reluctant to take the job on, but Sillybeth tells her there is no way that she can manage this by herself and persuades her to come along. They can always leave and come home if they do not like the sound of what they have to do for this Premier Chancellor. When they finally get to the country and find out what is expected of them, they are easily persuaded to carry out the mission, and then wonder how it happened! But they are intrigued by what they have been told. Front cover illustration, Sillybeth and Muddledydo trying their hand at camel riding like the desert folk. A disguise they did not use for long!
