Henry Mallory, a young London dentist, only realizes a drug dealer has used him when he becomes involved in a murder investigation - and is on the brink of bankruptcy. A friend introduces him to a cartel of Arab businessmen prepared to finance the Moslem doctor. As always in the Middle East, religion, including ancient conflicts and myths always seem to intrude and fuel animosities; these are woven into the fabric of the story.
