In the enclosure, on both sides Of the path leading to the house, vegetables had been planted: carrots, beets, and cabbages; farther on, in separate fields, with every breath of wind moved waves Of blue żax blossoms; far ther was the dark green of potato leaves; and on the rest Of the broad plain a żeece Of grain changed now into a lighter, now into a darker color up to the edges of a lake which washed the plain on one Side.
