Mit der zunehmenden Verdichtung der Städte gewinnt das Wohnen im Hochhaus an Relevanz. Klimatische, konstruktive und soziale Herausforderungen führten nicht selten zu höchst innovativen Lösungen bei dem jungen, sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Bautyp Wohnhochhaus. Eine Auswahl von 80 architektonisch beispielhaften Hochhäusern aus fünf Kontinenten ermöglicht ein vergleichendes Betrachten der unterschiedlichen Ansätze.
